Tegan and Sara certainly sound like an odd choice to do vocals for Dutch DJ Tiësto’s fourth album, Kaleidoscope, but that’s exactly what they did. As did Kele Okereke of Bloc Party, Emily Haines, Jonsi of Sigur Ros, Nelly Furtado, and Calvin Harris, among others. Perhaps surprisingly, the result of the collaboration with Tegan and Sara, “Feel It in My Bones,” isn’t awkward at all; Tiesto manages to make Tegan and Sara’s vocals fit in smoothly with his propulsive Europop. Hopefully the rest of the collaborations on Kaleidoscope come out this well.

Three 6 Mafia feat. Tiesto, Flo Rida, & Sean Kingston – “Feel It”

“Feel It” is the official third single by Three 6 Mafia from their upcoming tenth studio album Laws of Power. It features Tiësto, Sean Kingston and Flo Rida and was produced by Tiësto and DJ Frank E, co-written by Bei Maejor and mixed by Greg Wells. The song was released on December 1, 2009. The single debuted at #65 on the Canadian Hot 100 and skyrocketed to #33 the next week. “Feel It” was the Superclip of the week 5 of 2010 on the Dutch TMF channel. By its third week on Billboards Dance and Club Play Chart it was at #27 and on the fourth week it was up to #21.

Ride is a song from Cary Brothers’ album Who You Are released in 2007, the song has gained great success in mainstream and was released in 2008 as a single with a remix and a new music video by Dutch deejay Tiësto. Brothers will perform “Ride” along Tiësto at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival to promote each other’s tours. The remix charted 48 on the first week on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and it has reached 45 since then. The remix was included as the opening track in Tiësto’s Club Life on Radio 538 as well as on the podcast and on Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise 7: Asia compilation.

Elements of Life

Elements of Life is the third studio album produced by Dutch trance artist Tiësto, released on 6 April 2007 (see 2007 in music). The album contains collaborations with Jes of Gabriel & Dresden’s project Motorcycle, Julie Thompson of Holden & Thompson, Charlotte Martin, Christian Burns, BT, and Maxi Jazz of Faithless. BT collaborates with Tiësto for the first time since Love Comes Again, and Faithless’s rapper/singer Maxi Jazz is featuring on Dance4Life. The album has more tracks featuring vocals than previous albums (excluding the remixed Just Be).

The album was nominated in the category “Best Electronic/Dance Album” at the 50th Grammy Awards. In April 2007 the album moved 72,000 units according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album also received gold certifications in Belgium, Hungary, Netherlands, and Romania.
